Catching up!

Man! I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted on here! Facebook has ruined me!
I have been thinking of updating off and on for a while and am finally following through. There is much to share beyond all the fun of buying our first home! God is working in our home and I am so grateful. Not going to go much further with it than that for now. I need to wait to see how God is leading me to share. I know He wants me to be more transparent and share myself without fear. So, I will wait...

Catching Up Again!

I have been even more lax about updating on here since I got on Facebook! It has been so fun catching up with friends from High School and College and Camp. It has been a blessing to have my Cedar Crest buddies around again! And I love keeping up with my girl friends Valerie and Shannon and others who have moved away from Bowling Green. Unfortunately Facebook has kept me from here :)
So, here I am catching up again! The pictures are of Wesley on the ice skating rink that was made in the kiddie pool. And my cheerleaders working on a stunt that was more difficult than any I have done with a squad. They did a fantastic job with it!
It has taken a long time to get back into a routine with school since the holidays. We are getting there though and have a couple of great field trips coming up in the next few weeks! My friends Janet and Linda and I have agreed to organize the Enrichment Day activities again next year and I am looking forward to discovering new topics for next year. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
The church is gearing up for the Easter Pagent! I love Rich Pond and the way that a large portion of the church steps in and gets the job done! Jim has us returning to a script that we haven't done in years which means relearning music and reworking the set. So much fun and excitment! Pray for Jim as he seeks the Lord's guidance for the Pageant.
Alice's house has sold and she will finally be leaving for Africa! I can't begin to say how much I will miss her! We have been working together a lot lately (since she took on children's ministries) and she has blessed me and my family in so many ways. While I am sad to have her leave I am also so excited for her and the work she will be doing there. Steve was right this morning, Alice was formed for Africa! I cherish the example she is to our children! They have come to love her as much as we do and that can only make the sacrific missionaries make so much more real to them. Alice was formed for this reason too...

Praying for Ted Pemberton

We got word tonight while at the Garmon's for small group that Ted had been trampled by a bull. He was helping a neighbor load it into a trailer when it turned. Travis Wix called and said he was being life flighted to Vandy for treatment. The word we got said he had broken ribs, jaw and neck injuries. Please be praying for Ted, Nadine and the rest of the Pemberton family.

Update on Lisa

Lisa's surgery went well. The lymph nodes they sent to pathology during the surgery came back clean and I am not sure if there is further testing to be done. She was in a lot of pain when they got her in a room but once they got her some meds she was feeling better. Pray for healing and wisdom for doctors as decisions are made for further treatment. Pray for Lisa's parents who are in BG taking care of the kids. And pray for those of us who will be loving her through this!!! Pretty easy thing to do!!!

Praying for Lisa

My friend Lisa is having surgery today in Nashville. They have decided to do a double masectomy and will take some lymph nodes. Please pray for her, the doctors, her husband and sister and I will be at the hospital, her parents are staying here to care for the kiddies, and for wisdom for post op treatment options. Her choices are somewhat limited by her Lupus.
I'll update when I know more!

Catching Up!

Sorry that I didn't post what happened at the hearing before now! (Sorry Ann Kelly :)
Hunter is staying put for now and the parents have been told again to have the required evals done. No new hearing has been scheduled at this time. In happier news!! We got to see him today! Along with his sisters and brother (whom we have never met). Ben's family was here for Christmas and Deleana had all four of her grandbabies with her (their parents didn't come because, well it would take TOO much space to tell that story :). We had a great time! But it broke my heart to see him and to have to let him go. I don't know how Deleana does it! It hurt to see all of them and then let them go...
We have had a great holiday season and are looking forward to more Christmas tomorrow and I get to have lunch Monday with some of my Cedar Crest friends!! On New Year's Eve my college roomie and maid of honor is stopping by with her family. Amanda and I had completely lost touch and now I know why I couldn't find her! She got married and he is in the Army so the move alot! Right now they are in Texas!!! I think a trip to Texas is called for this summer!!
Here are a few picts from all the fun! Oh and Wes lost his 2 front teeth on Christmas Eve! He looks so cute!!

He has lost both upper teeth and 1 on either side on the bottom. Wes kinda looks like some weird reverse vampire :)

This is Noah, Deleana, Hunter

Tiara and Keelee
Every one's favorite picture! Ben and Linda duct taping Aaron's mouth shut!
Hope you all had a great Christmas!! We did!!

Hunter Hearing

There is a hearing today for Hunter's case. Ben and I are not able to be there and it is hard to have to wait to hear the news second hand. We know that his step mom had one drug test (she was supposed to have them every 2 weeks) and may have had the required number I am not sure. She did not do the drug counseling evaluation nor the domestic violence evaluation that dad and step mom were to do together. I fully expect the failure to complete the evaluations will fall on the case worker in Grayson county. Ben's sister has said that step mom has tried to get them done (at least the drug eval) and that they hadn't been able to get the money to do it. The judge ordered the state to pay for the tests and evaluations. It seems the programs are set up to be paid for by the participants and then reimbursed by the state. So who knows how the judge will view all that. I know I am rambling...
Please pray for Hunter and the judge and case worker and the family. There is so much playing into this case but I do have the faith that God is sovereign over it all!! Thanks for the prayers I know are on the way!!!
