We have all been sick! Ben has had the flu, both girls have had strep and respiratory problems and Wes has had a random fever that comes and goes as it pleases. I had managed to stay relatively ok (a migraine one day) until last night. After lunch I had a gallbladder attack that resulted in a trip to the emergency room. Always fun!! After they got me back to a room (which didn't take long in emergency room time) they left us there forever!! A Doctor finally came around and gave me some pain meds and left me again for a while, after an ultrasound and a few more hours of waiting they came and told me (drum roll please...) I have SLUDGE in my galbladder. Ben told me that he could have told me that because he could see the screen when the tech was doing my ultra sound. She measured out some stuff and then typed SLUDGE on the screen. SLUDGE!! So, I will likely have my galbladder removed eventually. How is that for non comittal! Have to have a second and maybe third opinion (can you tell I really don't want to have surgery?) I have even more respect for Tricia and Isaiah than ever before!! See their stories at the links below! I try to work them in when I can LOL!

Happy Valentine's Day

I took these pictures and made cards for the kids Valentine's Parties. I think they turned out well. These are my first attempts at something like this. My mom gave me my first digital camera for Chirstmas and I am having lots of fun with it!! If you look close the girls are holding different hearts. Rebekah's has a "cheer me on" heart in the center and Lizzie has a "two hearts" heart in the center. And special thanks to Blake and Chrissi for letting us borrow the Superman costume.
Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!!

Through the Bible
Our church began reading through the Bible at the begining of the year. We are using a chronological plan that has the Psalms spread out over the year. Each Sunday night our pastor teaches from the scripture we have read that week as a congregation. The reading plan and sermons are available on the church's web site. We would love to have you join us as we read. Its not too late to catch up!! The church's website is available through the link to the left or try here www.richpond.org

LET'S GO UPWARD!!
I have had the priviledge of coaching 4 Upward cheerleading squads in the last 3 years. It has been an experience that God has used to grow me in so many ways. These girls (around 28 of them so far) have been a joy to coach. We have our "moments", girls like to talk and giggle and play. God has shown me how precious that is and I appreciate it more now than I am irritated by it. I have seen shy, quiet girls willing step up and be on top of the pyramid (albeit a small pyramid :) hold their arms up and grin from ear to ear! There have been girls who are outgoing, obvious leaders who learned to be effective leaders of their peers not bullying their friends into action. I have had numerous opportunities to minister to families. You can truly never know what is going on in the lives of these kiddos. They are each so unique and I have sweet memories of each squad. So, if you have the opportunity to be a part of an Upward league in your area take advantage. This is an incredible ministry to the families of our community and I thank God for allowing me to be a part of it!
So, this is how our family spends our Saturdays :) Yes we are an Upward family! Ben coaches our son's team and I coach 1 of our daughter's cheer squad. Our other daughter has the pleasure of being on a team with lots of girls from our church and is coached by a friend of ours from church. We travel between 2 different churches on Saturdays trying to see as much of each game as our schedule allows. No complaints from the Jarboe Team though, this is our season of life and God is showing me how quickly it will be gone!
When I get this all figured out I'll try to add some pictures of the action!

Just another day
I have spent a bit of time today adding to and playing around with this blog thing. Trying to figure it out. I did stop and "do School" with the girls :) Spelling tests are no more fun to give than they are to take (I know you don't believe me girls, but it is true)
I have never had a child who didn't want to go to school. Rebekah and Elizabeth have always jumped up ready (ok maybe not jumped but they didn't grumble) to go to school! Wes has been that way in the past but, since Christmas he has not wanted to get up. A bit like his Dad HA HA!
The last week has gotten into "I have a head ache" tummy ache" "insert achy body parts here". Mostly it is "I wanna be home schooled" And I respond "Next year son" at which point he whines and I end up physically dressing him myself. Usually by then I have him laughing and there are no more complaints. My heart hurts when he leaves. I truly miss him during the day and can't wait till we are all home next year! He may be wishing he was back in public school after he gets a taste of home school life. I think he thinks we just play all day. A new world comes for you next fall Wesley!
