Catching Up!

Sorry that I didn't post what happened at the hearing before now! (Sorry Ann Kelly :)
Hunter is staying put for now and the parents have been told again to have the required evals done. No new hearing has been scheduled at this time. In happier news!! We got to see him today! Along with his sisters and brother (whom we have never met). Ben's family was here for Christmas and Deleana had all four of her grandbabies with her (their parents didn't come because, well it would take TOO much space to tell that story :). We had a great time! But it broke my heart to see him and to have to let him go. I don't know how Deleana does it! It hurt to see all of them and then let them go...
We have had a great holiday season and are looking forward to more Christmas tomorrow and I get to have lunch Monday with some of my Cedar Crest friends!! On New Year's Eve my college roomie and maid of honor is stopping by with her family. Amanda and I had completely lost touch and now I know why I couldn't find her! She got married and he is in the Army so the move alot! Right now they are in Texas!!! I think a trip to Texas is called for this summer!!
Here are a few picts from all the fun! Oh and Wes lost his 2 front teeth on Christmas Eve! He looks so cute!!

He has lost both upper teeth and 1 on either side on the bottom. Wes kinda looks like some weird reverse vampire :)

This is Noah, Deleana, Hunter

Tiara and Keelee
Every one's favorite picture! Ben and Linda duct taping Aaron's mouth shut!
Hope you all had a great Christmas!! We did!!

Hunter Hearing

There is a hearing today for Hunter's case. Ben and I are not able to be there and it is hard to have to wait to hear the news second hand. We know that his step mom had one drug test (she was supposed to have them every 2 weeks) and may have had the required number I am not sure. She did not do the drug counseling evaluation nor the domestic violence evaluation that dad and step mom were to do together. I fully expect the failure to complete the evaluations will fall on the case worker in Grayson county. Ben's sister has said that step mom has tried to get them done (at least the drug eval) and that they hadn't been able to get the money to do it. The judge ordered the state to pay for the tests and evaluations. It seems the programs are set up to be paid for by the participants and then reimbursed by the state. So who knows how the judge will view all that. I know I am rambling...
Please pray for Hunter and the judge and case worker and the family. There is so much playing into this case but I do have the faith that God is sovereign over it all!! Thanks for the prayers I know are on the way!!!

Praying for the Fee family.

Most of you guys know I started working for the BEST CLEANING COMPANY (thanks Kathy and Kurt :) in Bowling Green this summer. We clean the new Western Kentucky Orthopedic Associates offices on Friday nights and I was dusting the doc's private offices last night. I love doing that job because you see what is important to those guys and for most of them it is family. When I have the job of dusting those offices I always feel led to pray for these doctors and their families and patients. Last night as I entered Kirk Fee's office I prayed for peace, and ease in the passing for Kela. I prayed for strength, and peace and understanding for Kirk. I prayed for God to protect the hearts of Alex and Baxter. That He would use this experience to bring them to Himself. As I finished I realized I had been there a while and glanced at my watch noting the time was about 10pm. I was blown away to read on Kela's Caring Bridge page that she had passed away shortly after 10pm.
I have always known that when the Holy Spirit lays someone on your heart there is a reason. What a blessing to know that our all knowing, all caring God speaks to others and has them cry out to Him, for us, when we are unable to. I praise God for revealing this truth to me in a real way last night. And yet one more person has been touched deeply by the example of Kela and Kirk Fee.

Holiday Rush!

I usually don't get stressed about the holidays this early! But my sister arrives the 10th so maybe that is why I am stressed so soon! My family will be here next Sunday for Christmas with Emily and to see the kids sing at church. Emily never gets to do stuff like that since she is in LA so I am glad she will get to be here!
We have thawed from the parade yesterday and I got some pictures to add soon (when I have longer than 5 minutes)
Please be in prayer for Kela Fee and her family. She has been moved to the new residential Hospice facility here in Bowling Green. We have great love and compassion for Kela, Kirk and the boys, as I know a lot of you do too. Pray for them as the face their all to brief future together with unbelievable grace and faith!

Thankful!

We have so much to be thankful for!
*That the van didn't catch on fire yesterday!
*That it didn't wait until we were on the road today to spring a leak!
*We have wonderful friends who know how precious time with family is! Thank you Leslie and Aaron for your offer of a van for the weekend!! I can't tell you how much that meant to us!
*An IGA Crossroads Market down the street! Ben and the kids rode their bikes down and got the fixings for a great meal!
*We actually have the money in savings to pay for the repairs!
*And most important we are thankful for a saviour who loves us enough to bless us in uncountable (is that a word?) ways!

Happy Thanksgiving

Well, we were supposed to leave tomorrow morning for Louisville BUT...
I was getting in the car at K Mart and was overwhelmed by the smell of gas. When I got home smoke was coming from under the hood! Ben opened it up and there were 3 little sprays of gas coming from the fuel line! The part only comes from a dealer and requires a special tool to remove and replace it. The part won't be in until Sat or Monday. So we looked into a rental car and are on a waiting list for now!
We may be having a quiet Thanksgiving at home! My mom's thoughts on us not coming were as follows... "What do I do with all this food and who is going to bring the Christmas stuff up from the basement!" Count on your mom to get to the important stuff!
Hope you all have a trouble free, Happy Thanksgiving!!

Prayer for a friend

Lots of you all know my friend Lisa Menetrey either through school or through my stories about our "adventures in multiple birth". She was diagnosed Friday with breast cancer. Reality hasn't hit her yet because she has been focused on treatment options and where to seek treatment (here or Nashville).
Lisa and I "met" while we were pregnant with our twins. We both went to the same OBGYN and the doctor told each of us how the other was doing without ever giving a name (confidentiality). Louis and Melissa are 11 days older than Rebekah and Elizabeth. It happened that Lisa and I were in the office at the same time for our post delivery appointments. Ben's mom was in the lobby with the girls when Lisa came and started talking to her. His mom thought we actually knew one another and didn't understand why I was confused when I came out and didn't know her name. From that moment on Lisa and I have shared every crazy step in the journey of raising multiples. We just clicked!
Please pray for wise treatment decisions (Lisa also had Lupus which could complicate treatment choices). Pray for her husband Lou and their kids Louis and Melissa. Pray for doctors with compassion and kindness. Pray for me and our group of multiple moms as we support and minister to her.
We all covet your prayers!!
