Computer Down

Sorry folks but our computer is not being very nice! It has been acting up for a few weeks. Our computer guru came Thursday (Larry Massey for those of you with Rich Pond connections:) Hopefully we will get it back in a day or two! Until then I am checking e mail at the neighbors. I will post again when we get the hard drive back!

From the Back Seat

On our way home from church this afternoon Ben called his Mom and passed the phone back to the kids. Rebekah got it first and this is the conversation we heard.

It started with something about being busy...
Bekah: We are all busy..
Well, Daddy is busy driving,
Mommy is busy watching to make sure Daddy doesn't do something wrong,
Wes is busy playing with his trophy
and Liz is busy singing.

Did you catch what she said I was doing! I guess I have to come clean and admit I am a chronic backseat driver!! But in my defense, the man was nearly asleep at a stop light not 5 minutes after she made the commment!! I said "BEN" "It's a good thing I am busy making sure you don't do something wrong!"
Hope you guys are having a good weekend! We have had fun caring for Dixie and Chimmy and the scared to death Chiuaua (I have no idea how to spell that breed's name) !

Isaiah and Tricia

Isaiah had his surgery yesterday! It seems like things went well, based on what Nicki has been posting on his web site. The girls made me check the site for updates between each subject yesterday! Their GA teacher is Isaiah's Aunt Amanda and they love and look up to her so much. There were many prayers said yesterday and again today for Isaiah his doctors, nurses, and especially his family! Check his updates by clicking on his link to the left. This is a picture from when we took prayer balloons to him before the original surgery date!

Also. Tricia was released from the hospital yesterday! Three weeks (I believe) after her double lung transplant. She and Nate are settling in at their temporary home (a hotel) for a month of therapy and waiting for Gwenyth to be big enough to come home. Follow their story with me by clicking on the CF Husband link to the left.Hope everyone is having a great week! Friday is coming! We get to dog sit for our neighbors! Dixie is the sweetest little dog. I am not a dog person but she has made me reconsider my stance! These are some pictures I took when we had a snow day. She was so excited and hopping around in the snow I couldn't get a good shot of her face. I am playing around with the photography thing and did this up for Anna (Dixie's human :)

Pray for Ben's Mom

Betty was taken to the hospital late Monday evening with chest pains and out of control blood pressure. She hates going to any hospital other than the one in Lietchfield. I have felt for a long time that she wasn't getting the best care that was available so when they transferred her to Jewish in Louisville late Wednesday night I was thanking God for answering that prayer. The doctor there performed a catherterization yesterday and found several blockages in smaller arteries and a larger one in another. They planned to use a stint to open it but decided during the procedure to simply balloon it open. She was very groggy and sick from the pain meds and anesthesia yesterday. The doctor also told her and everyone else that he felt the biggest part pf her problems (chest pain and blood pressure that spikes and drops) is due to stress. She has been in the hospital every two weeks for the last 2 months with symptoms that have always sounded more like a panic attack than a heart attack. Praise God that one answer has been found and corrected (the blockage) and pray with us that a more effective treatment for the anxiety can be found.

Finished the chair!!

Here are the before and after pictures! I actually forgot to take a before shot and remembered after I had finished the seat. I think it turned out pretty well. The girls and I are painting the shelf today. The recovery from my surgery has been much easier than I expected but sitting hunched up on a stool for a day seems to have aggrivated my tummy and the last 2 days have been uncomfortable. I am feeling better today so, I am back to the grind stone! HEE HEE!

Lots to do TODAY!!

We are getting ready to head out! First stop Ace Hardware! I need staples to recover my Great Grandfather's rocking chair. I have a photo of him sitting in the chair with my sister and I on either side and it has the same fabric. I am guessing I am about 8 in the picture so you do the math! Think it is time to recover the chair. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about doing this. I remember him in that chair and those are precious memories. So, I am taking pictures of the kids sitting in the chair and will put it with the picture of Emily, myself and Gran Gran and display near the recovered rocking chair. I know, I get sentimental about really weird things! I also have his lunch box. Think of the hundreds of meals my Bam Bean made for him over the years!
My neighbor gave me one of those over the sink shelves and it is perfect to help the clutter that gathers around the kids sink. So, the girl's project is to paint the shelf! A nice green to go with the frog decor we already have.
We also need to make bread for Aaron's (Ben's brother) wedding tomorrow. I am taking the photos so, I need to get the camera ready to go. And there is a diaper bag to make for a shower on Sunday! Like I said LOTS TO DO!!

Tricia Update!

Tricia's surgery was successful and she is in the ICU. I know I don't actually know this family but I, and thousands of others, are following the story of Tricia, Nathan and Gwyneth. Please pray for this special family! You can become addicted like me by checking out www.cfhusband.blogspot.com
